Mixed Media Art Canvas

Posted by DeAnna

I have had this idea in my head for a few weeks, and I was finally able to put it into action. I had this 5×7 blank canvas that I wanted to paint and then adhere a letter and various sizes of flowers to. Here is the finished product:

I hand painted the canvas with my acrylic paints, aiming for a green-ish background close to the green in the largest flower.  I used several sheets of Basic Grey’s Cappella 6×6 paper pad, and several sizes of EK Success circle punches to make my flowers.  I used my Silhouette to create the letter A (obviously for our household name ;D) and cut it out of a 6×6 sheet from one of the Basic Grey Basics paper pad.   I plan to attach some ribbon to the back and hang it somewhere in our house.  I love it!  Here are some close-ups:

In the meantime I’ve been working on a video for a card I made recently which uses a cool inking technique.   I was hoping to do the voice-over last night while I was working, but I was actually busy, so I couldn’t do it.  Hopefully tonight I can get it finished and have it up for Thursday ;D   I do need to find a better solution for placement of my camera for filming, but it did what I needed to do in a pinch!
