A video and a Thank You

Posted by DeAnna

Okay, so I loved a technique I used on this card and I decided to do a video on it to show you how I did it. It’s the first video I’ve done, and I plan to do a few more, so please let me know if you have any comments on it! I’d love to have some feedback ;D Here’s the card:

And here’s the video:

I forgot to mention my Tonic/Tim Holtz scissors and distressing tool, and the Ranger craft sheet (which I absolutely adore and wouldn’t craft without anymore). I originally bought the small one, and I ended up buying the large one recently since I wanted more room. I found that I would end up with a space about the size of my craft sheet that was clear for me to work on, and I figured if I got the larger one I might keep my desk just a tiny bit tidier ;D Plus, I’ll still use the smaller one when I travel or go to crops! Yay! The button was from a bag of buttons at Michael’s and the twine was from the craft aisle at Wal-Mart. The solid papers are from a paper pad I bought at Costco when I first started scrapbooking, which really wasn’t that long ago, but my tastes and style have changed so much since then ;D

Today, I am working (albeit at home ;D ) while my hubby is home for the Remembrance Day holiday. I am thankful for the soldiers who fought/are fighting for our country and those who fought in World War II and the Vietnam War and allowed my grandfather and father not to have to go to war. Thankfully those two wars were just slightly before each of their time in the military. My grandfather was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and my father was in the US Air Force (I may have mentioned before that he’s American). When the Gulf War broke out in 1991 I didn’t know my father yet. I was worried he would still be in the Air Force and be deployed and I would never get the chance to meet him. Lucky for me he wasn’t and we finally met in 1999. I will gratefully share a minute of silence to remember those who have been lost, those who have fought and come home, and those that, whether they have been deployed in war or not, honor their country by serving in the military to protect us. I don’t often share those feelings or, truthfully, think about them that often. But today I will. I miss my grandfather who passed away in 2006, and my father who is far away in Iowa and we don’t get to see often enough. Hug your loved ones close today…

With heartfelt thanks…

DeAnna
