April class calendar…

Posted by DeAnna

Well, the class calendar for April at Precious Memories is up!  Welcome to any new visitors this week! I hope you enjoy what you see. I’m so excited and I hope you will all come out and try my classes. I have two classes in April; a card class featuring beginner handmade flower techniques and a layout class doing three single-page layouts.

Today I also am sharing another of the layouts I did at the crop:

I used a sheet of BoBunny double dot paper as the background, some Dear Lizzy + AC thickers,  and two sheets from the 6×6 BasicGrey Jovial paper pad.  The rest was all from the Jovial sticker sheet, glazed brads and the super cute little birdie from the woolies.  Super simple and easy and I love the happy feel it has.  I used my foam applicator tool and some Antique Linen Distress Ink to tone down the blatant whiteness of the thickers and help them blend in a bit.  To do that I use my craft mat from Ranger and lightly stick the letters I’m using onto it.  When I’m done, I can easily peel them off the craft mat and add them to my layout.  I added a few brads to the center of the large snowflakes and on the date tag, and just layered snowflakes, presents and border stickers and added the die cut shaped sticker and wrote my journaling on it.  I decided not to use more of the patterned paper simply because Jovial has a more sophisticated look and yet I still wanted this layout to be fun and whimsical.  Using the sticker elements kept it whimsical (we are dealing with a first christmas ;D), and leaving a lot of “white space” (blank areas that give the eye a place to rest) helped keep it from looking heavy.

Thanks for looking!  I hope to see some of you next month!

Oh, and happy St. Patrick’s day, and a very happy birthday to my dad!!  ;D
